About the Institute

This year’s AIMS Theory and Method Institute, focusing on “Writing for the Public and Policy,” will feature activities related to writing 1) Policy Briefs, 2) Essays, and 3) Op-Eds. Faculty Instructors will conduct master classes on the practice of crafting academic research into these outputs. In addition, participating graduate students and other early career scholars will have the opportunity to present their research topics and receive individualized feedback from both Faculty Instructors and fellow participants on transforming them into their selected output.

About AIMS

Funded by Carnegie Corporation of New York and Directed by Marwan M. Kraidy, the goal of the Arab Information and Media Studies (AIMS) project at #IAS_NUQ is to expand the field of critical media and information studies in the Arab region and transform it into a more interdisciplinary, multilingual, collaborative, research-oriented, and policy-relevant field. To this end, the AIMS project connects Arabophone, Anglophone, and Francophone Arab media scholarly communities through networking, translation of scholarly works, publications, multilingual events, working groups, and theory and method institutes.
