Northwestern University in Qatar is extending its celebration of the Class of 2026 beyond the graduation ceremony, with a series of public activations across Doha that honor the achievements of this year’s graduates and invite the wider community to take part in the moment.
Following the graduation ceremony at Katara Hall, Raffles Doha on May 4, graduate portraits will be projected on the Al Jaber Towers from 9:00 p.m. to midnight. Located in close proximity to the venue, the activation offers graduates, families, and guests an opportunity to continue the evening together in a shared space of celebration.
The following day, on May 5, the Class of 2026 will also be featured on the Halo Screen at Msheireb Downtown Doha, bringing the celebration into the heart of the city and extending its reach to a broader audience.
Dean Marwan M. Kraidy described graduation as a defining moment in the life of the university, emphasizing both reflection and community. “Graduation is always one of the most meaningful moments in the life of a university. It is a time to reflect on the journeys our students have taken, the resilience they have shown, and the many accomplishments that have brought them to this milestone,” he said.
He added that expanding the celebration beyond the ceremony creates an opportunity to recognize graduates in a way that reflects the strength of the NU-Q community. “This year, we celebrate our graduates beyond the graduation ceremony, across different locations in the city, so that more members of our wider community may join in honoring their achievements.”
Nisar Keshvani, assistant dean of communications and public affairs, noted that the activations are part of a broader effort to connect the university’s milestones with the city and its community.
“These moments are an extension of the graduation experience. They allow us to celebrate our students in a way that is visible, shared, and connected to the wider community they have been part of during their time at NU-Q,” he said.
Together, the activations reflect Northwestern Qatar’s commitment to celebrating its graduates not only within the university, but across the broader landscape of Doha. As the Class of 2026 marks this milestone, the city itself becomes part of the celebration, recognizing the journeys, contributions, and futures of its newest alumni.
