Class of 2026 speaker Isra Fejzullaj delivered a deeply personal and collective reflection on the journey of her peers, shaped by uncertainty, growth, and resilience.
Opening her remarks with a recognition of the challenges the class has faced, she spoke about how expectations at the start of university often gave way to more complex and uncertain realities. What began as a search for clear answers evolved into an ongoing process of questioning, learning, and self-discovery.
“We thought we would figure out who we are, what we want, and where we’re going,” she said. “Instead, we learned to live with questions we didn’t have answers to.”
She reflected on how those questions did not disappear, but changed over time, becoming a source of growth rather than uncertainty. Through academic challenges, creative work, and shared experiences, the class learned to navigate ambiguity and build confidence in their abilities.
Her speech also acknowledged the broader context in which the class completed their studies, including moments of disruption and global uncertainty. She spoke candidly about the emotional and practical challenges students faced, while emphasizing the resilience that allowed them to continue moving forward.
“We thought we would figure out who we are, what we want, and where we're going. Instead, we learned to live with questions we didn't have answers to.”
“Progress doesn’t look perfect,” she said, noting that many of the most important lessons came through persistence rather than ease.
Fejzullaj emphasized the role of storytelling in shaping understanding, reminding her peers that their work carries both influence and responsibility. She highlighted the importance of listening, intention, and care in how stories are told and shared.
“We learned to look deeper, to listen closely, and to find meaning in a world overflowing with information,” she said.
Closing her address, she returned to a message of resilience and continuity, encouraging her classmates to carry forward what they have learned, even without complete certainty about the future.
Her remarks captured a defining sentiment of the Class of 2026: that growth is not about having all the answers, but about continuing to move forward with purpose, reflection, and a shared sense of responsibility.
