June 14, 2023

Northwestern University in Qatar Dean and CEO Marwan M. Kraidy has been elected as the 2023-24 Chair of the Fellows at the International Communication Association (ICA), one of the most prestigious international associations for communication scholars and researchers.

Elected every year by more than 250 fellows from around the world, the Fellows’ Chair acts as a representative of the fellows and spearheads initiatives across the wider ICA and global communication scholarly communities. During his tenure, Kraidy, who succeeds Northwestern University Professor Pablo Boczkowski as Fellows’ Chair, will lead a series of initiatives and projects to engage ICA’s network of fellows and the global scholarly community and advance research and scholarly study of communication around the world.

“I am honored to have been elected ICA’s Fellows’ Chair and look forward to engaging my fellow ICA Fellows in impactful opportunities with the global scholarly community to further advance our understanding of the complexities and nuances of communication around the world," said Kraidy. “As incoming International Communication Association’s Fellows' Chair, I will build on my colleague Pablo Boczkowski's work to continue making the great brain trust that is the ICA fellows community more engaged with ICA members and global hubs.”
