Floyd Yarmuth is an Emmy Award winning television professional with more than 30 years of experience in journalism, commercial production, and digital media.

Before joining Northwestern, Floyd managed Rockhouse, an award-winning video production and digital media company in Washington, DC, which he also founded. As creative director, he ran daily operations in addition to being executive producer and director on projects for clients such as Hilton Hotels Worldwide and Toyota.  

Floyd spent 25 years at CNN in Atlanta and Washington, DC as a photojournalist and operations manager. During his tenure, he traveled around the globe covering world events, politics, presidents, sports, war zones, and natural disasters. Floyd also worked extensively with CNN’s Documentary Unit and Special Events department working on live events.

At Northwestern Qatar, Floyd manages the operations side of the Production Department, overseeing the university’s production equipment, class allocation and training support, event production, and studio facilities. He holds a BS in communications with a major in broadcast journalism from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and is completing an MS in information design and strategy from Northwestern University.
