As an admissions specialist, Alessandra El Chanti focuses on recruiting, counseling, interviewing, and reviewing prospective students and their applications to the university. 

In addition, El Chanti designs and instructs Pre-College Programs at Northwestern Qatar tailored for high school students who have an interest in media studies and production. 

El Chanti has a passion for storytelling, teaching, and film production. She is a double alumna, receiving her Bachelor of Science in communication and her Master of Fine Arts in documentary media from Northwestern. 

Alessandra is an artist and filmmaker with her works focusing on stories from the Levant, as her interest lies in the culture, politics, and arts of the region. 

She has directed multiple short films as a one-woman crew that have toured in film festivals internationally, and her latest animated documentary, When Beirut Was Beirut (2021) won the Bader Best Short Film Award at the Ajyal Film Festival in Qatar.
