Jumana Al-Abdi is a counselor with over 20 years of on-campus counseling and wellness experience. She specializes in higher education counseling and works with adolescents and adults with diverse backgrounds and mental health needs.

As a higher education counselor, Al- Abdi integrates various treatment modalities and skills to provide students with access to diverse counseling resources and a safe place to support their mental health and wellness needs.

For the past 16 years, Al-Abdi has provided personalized counseling services for students and founded personal development initiatives in a number of higher education institutions in Qatar. She established the first counseling office at Carnegie Mellon University Qatar in 2005 and then served as Interim Director of Personal Development and Counseling at VCUArts Qatar, where she focused on holistic care and wellness programs.

Al-Abdi holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Alberta, a Social Work Honors degree from Carleton University. She earned her Master of Science degree in Psychology with a specialization in Counseling Psychology from Capella University.
