Akzhunis is majoring in Journalism and Strategic Communication. She is especially interested in the intersection of mental health, psychology, and communication. She is currently an AIM-Lab Aurora Grant recipient and is working on a research paper exploring how AI can be used in mental health support and digital well-being. She enjoys reading books about psychology, which often inspires her academic and creative work. Akzhunis is passionate about both academic and journalistic writing, and enjoys helping students organize ideas, and develop clear, engaging narratives.
