Foreign aid and journalism in the Global South

Project Description

As part of a larger research project, Professor Lugo-Ocando here examines the way foreign aid has been directed at disseminating a specific model of journalism ethics and practice around the world. He analyzes how and why international aid efforts towards media development supported the export of this model - and its associated values - as a way to underpin liberal democracy and market economy principles in an age in which the USA and the Soviet Union started to emerge as world powers.
