New executive education masterclasses at Northwestern Qatar

Executive education masterclasses for strategic communication and media professionals in Qatar and the region will be offered by Northwestern Qatar. The courses will feature negotiation strategies, communication and team building, and communication with internal and external audiences.
 
“The Executive Education program builds on Northwestern Qatar’s expertise in the fields of communication and media to help communication professionals advance their capabilities and succeed in today’s increasingly complex global business environment,” said Jairo A. Lugo-Ocando, director of executive and graduate education at Northwestern Qatar.
 
The first course, Effective Communication for Negotiating, will be offered in September and will focus on how to become an effective negotiator through a problem-solving mindset. The course, which is offered in partnership with Georgetown University in Qatar, will be led by expert negotiator and advisor Roberto Ordoñez, who will explore how to maximize value in negotiations by integrating effective negotiation techniques, strategies, and tactics.

A second course, Building the Right Communication Team, will explain how communications professionals can analyze the compositions and skillsets required to maximize their team’s performance. Communication executive, Justin Kerr-Stevens, managing director of BLJ Worldwide, will lead the course, sharing insights from his more than 20 years of experience leading communication teams in Australia, the United Kingdom, Jordan, and Kazakhstan.
 
George Anghelcev, professor of journalism and strategic communication at Northwestern Qatar, will lead the third course, Strategic Communication to Stakeholders, which will examine ways to communicate strategically with key internal and external stakeholders through traditional and digital media. The course will be offered in November and will explain how to identify key stakeholders, set up effective communication channels, and effectively engage with them in times of crisis.
