About

Sahar Mari is a seasoned learning assistance professional with more than 10 years of experience working in higher education in Qatar. She previously coached and consulted engineering students on document design, presentation skills, metacognition strategies, time management, and multimedia projects. Driven by her passion for creating holistic student experiences, she takes pride in helping students develop healthy learning habits as they transition from high school to university. Sahar is the inaugurate recipient of Texas A&M University’s “Outstanding Advocate for First-Year Students Award,” which recognizes a faculty or staff member for significant and extraordinary contributions to the development of undergraduate first-year students and involvement in high-impact practices for first-year student success. As a lifelong learner, she loves to read and adapt new technology when designing experiential learning activities. 

Sahar earned an M.F.A. in Graphic Design and Visual Experience from Savannah College of Art and Design after completing two B.F.A. degrees, one in Graphic Design and one in Fashion Design, from Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar.
