Communication '24

Where I call home

My home is South Korea, and I call Dubai, UAE my second home.

What I study

I am planning to major in Communications with a Strategic Communications certificate.

Favorite Place(s) in Doha

My favorite places are Katara for its beautiful night views and the green spine in EC for the memories I have with my friends.

Interests & Hobbies

I am a huge fan of walking under the sunset with good music and capturing beautiful skies - both bring me to a calm state that takes me out from all the academic, or just general, stress. After coming to Doha, I also became interested in creating simple yet nutritious recipes.

Me in a Nutshell

I am an academic party person - I love self-development, learning hard skills, and gaining experience, but I am also always planning to do something for the weekend.

How you think your major/study will help you reach your future career/life goals?

I have always been interested in business and psychology, which drew me into business and strategic communication. The well-established courses from the Communications major, the crazy diverse community, and endless opportunities will prepare me to understand people with different backgrounds.

Who are your favorite professor(s) at Northwestern Qatar and why?

It’s hard to choose, but I would have to say Professor Kelly, Professor Miriam, and Professor Scott. They all have amazing energy in Zoom classes that transfers through the screens and offer genuine support to the students.

What is your favorite class you’ve taken at Northwestern Qatar?

My favorite class so far is MIT 190 that I’m taking in my first-year spring semester. We got the chance to borrow professional equipment from the school and got to do hands-on projects, which was much more interesting than staring at our laptops!

Any other future aspirations you have for after you graduate?

I want to become a part of a non-governmental organization and build a deep connection with one community.
