Single Dorm Room
If you are living in a single Residence Hall room (first-year students), the following is already available in your room:
- A large TV screen
- Small room refrigerator
- Desk and desk chair
- Cisco room telephone
- Shelving and closet space
- En suite bathroom
- 1 towel
- Hair dryer
- Trash can
- Bedding (sheets, comforter, 1 pillow)—provided for students who are new to HBKU Student Housing only

Apartments
If you are living in one of the apartments, they are fully furnished. The following is provided:
- Large TV screen in sitting room and bedroom
- Couches, tables, lamps
- Full kitchen with appliances: stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer unit, kitchen counter chairs
- Toaster
- Electric kettle
- Desk and desk chair
- Cisco room telephone
- Shelving and closet space
- En suite bathroom
- 1 towel
- Hair dryer
- Trash can
- Bedding (sheets, comforter, 1 pillow)—provided for students who are new to HBKU Student Housing only
- One adaptor
Suggested packing list
- Shower shoes/flip-flops
- Alarm clock
- Backpack/bag for school
- Electronics and corresponding chargers (check voltage)
- Clothing/shoes
- Consider packing a range of attire: from casual to formal, and clothing that can be layered. No matter the temperature outside, indoor places are often heavily air conditioned.
- Note: in Qatar, it is appropriate to keep shoulders and knees covered
- For school spirit and student activities, consider bringing purple clothing (our school color) and even costume items for themed events
- Umbrella (it does rain sometimes, mainly in winter)
- Room decor: posters, photos, decorative items, extra pillows
- Toiletries — you can buy most toiletries in Qatar, but you may want to pack any unique things that you can't live without
- Medication
- Extra contact lenses and glasses
- Electric toothbrush heads

Qatar has many shopping centers, malls, and pharmacies. Among other things, you can find the following items in Qatar:
- Fused power strips
- Power adaptors and converters
- Phone and computer cords
- External harddrives
- Towels and linens
- School supplies (notebooks, pens, etc.)
- Laundry supplies
- Hangers
- Basic first aid and common medicines
- Toiletries and cosmetics
