Scheherazade has more than 16 years of experience in the broadcast industry.

She has worked in both editorial and technical roles for television stations around the world, including London’s Channel 5, South Africa's terrestrial and first 24-hour news channel and TRTworld in Turkey. Scheherazade joins NU-Q from Al Jazeera English where she was a producer. 

In South Africa, she covered major stories and wrote, produced and directed the documentary, The Rough Cut, viewed by millions in the region. Scheherazade’s research interests and published articles include A Call for Arabic Digital Media, the launch of iNET Qatar: ‘The Rise of the Arab Information Society’ and Assistive Technology in the Middle East.

Scheherazade has worked as a digital media manager for an international, not-for-profit organization and has served as a volunteer for Qatar Foundation’s Reach Out to Asia, and currently, the Boy Scouts of America. She holds a BA (Honors) in Culture, Communication and Media Studies and has completed executive programs at NU-Q and training at the Al Jazeera Media Institute.
