Pamela Krayenbuhl joins NU-Q as assistant professor in residence. She holds a PhD and an MA from Northwestern University and a dual BA in rhetoric and interdisciplinary studies from UC Berkeley. She is currently working on a few academic articles and is beginning the process of producing a book manuscript that expands upon on her dissertation research. Her dissertation examined the intersection of dance cultures with commercial film & television cultures in midcentury America, with a particular focus on issues of race and masculinity. In the past, she has written essays and given talks on dance, media, and intermediality. 

She has catalogued more than 500 dance films and videos in Chicago Film Archives' vast Ruth Page Collection, which spans 1922-1999, serves as a visual record of the American ballerina and choreographers’ long and influential career as a Chicago-based dancer, choreographer, and company director.
