FIFA World Cup 2022

Information and resources for Northwestern Qatar and Education City operations during the FIFA World Cup

The State of Qatar is hosting the FIFA World Cup from November 20 to December 18, 2022. The World Cup is the largest sporting event in the world with expected visitor numbers to Qatar of well over one million. Matches will be played in eight stadiums in Qatar, including one in Education City (EC).

This event will create challenges, including movement around Doha, before and during the tournament. More than 200,000 spectators are expected to travel to games each match day with many more visiting fan zones around the city.

This information is based on the latest updates from the Qatar Foundation and the Supreme Committee; however, this is a complex, ever-changing situation and information may change with little notice.
