Mail forwarding from Evanston to Doha
The Qatar Support Office forwards United States Postal Service and campus interoffice mail to Northwestern faculty, staff, and their family members in Qatar.
- Mailed items
U.S. mail includes personal mail items such as letters, documents, journals and magazines, catalogs, and other flat materials. The QSO exercises discretion in discarding and not forwarding obvious junk mail. The QSO will not mail personal packages. See below for instructions regarding personal packages. For additional information, employees should consult NU-Q mail policy (pdf). - Mail frequency
The QSO forwards mail to Qatar on Mondays and Thursdays. Mail typically arrives at NU-Q within three business days. The QSO forwards scholarly/professional material and NU-Q departmental purchases to Qatar in separate shipments. - Correct address format
All mail for recipients in NU-Q should be addressed in the following format:

Personal packages
Since personal packages may not be included in the QSO’s inbound or outbound mailings, faculty and staff may wish to open a “Shop&Ship” account with Aramex, a shipping and receiving company with a facility at Education City. Learn more about the Shop&Ship service.

When shipping items via the US Postal Service, it is important to note that customs forms are required and that certain items may be prohibited. Please consult the US Post Office before sending packages to Qatar.
