Video & Multimedia Content Manager

Job Summary:

The Video and Multimedia Content Manager is responsible for an overall content quality and output for various indoor and outdoor state-of-the-art and complex multimedia installations and channels to support the teaching of journalism, strategic communication, media industries, and liberal arts.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and create multimedia content for indoor and outdoor channels; responsible for overall content quality
  • Direct and execute video, animation, and graphic design projects
  • Maintain a production schedule/calendar for each channel; manage digital asset library
  • Work closely with internal stakeholder groups and liaise with technical providers
  • Oversee the work of third-party vendors and contributors: production houses, design agencies, animators, photographers, videographers, etc.
  • Keep abreast of video best practices, trends, equipment, and software
  • Contribute content for the university's external outreach channels (websites, social media, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 3 – 5 years of experience in multimedia production
  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in design, film, journalism, communication or related field; OR appropriate combination of education and experience

Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)

  • Demonstrated skills in video production/development, graphic design, motion design, and narrative development/writing
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro and AfterEffects
  • Considerable knowledge of the methods, equipment, techniques, and technologies used in video production and video editing
  • Deep familiarity with video technology and delivery – i.e. formats, codecs, uploads, compression, web and social platforms
  • Experience developing creative concepts; ability to visualize and interpret production scripts
  • Deadline-oriented, organized, and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail, creative problem-solver, solution-oriented
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)

  • Successful completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a master's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience

  • Ability to learn new equipment/software quickly
  • Ability to give concrete creative direction and feedback
  • Ability to combine a creative eye with attention to detail
  • Experience managing stakeholders and managing third-party vendors
  • Basic knowledge of Arabic characters/language formatting
